Do you want to take part in creating the next UngRIFF festival?
UngRIFF is built on co-creation. This means that the UngRIFF children's and youth film festival is not only made for kids, but kids also take part in its creation and planning. Children and young people lead the creation and production of projects and events under the guidance of the UngRIFF festival director. With that as a guiding principle, the youth council was founded. The goal of the youth council is to increase the democratic participation of young people and give them the opportunity to be involved in shaping and producing the festival.
What does it mean to be part of the youth council?
- Monthly meetings with the UngRIFF festival director (can be attended online)
- Participation in the planning of the next UngRIFF festival, which takes place from September 23 to October 4, 2026
- Brainstorming regarding the festival program, including which workshops and events will be available
- Voting for the recipient of the UngRIFF Honorary Award 2026!
- Participation in the UngRIFF Opening Ceremony at Smárabíó (for those who wish)
The council is made up of young people between the ages of 12 and 16 from across the country who meet once a month, more often if needed, to plan and prepare UngRIFF together with the festival director. Meetings take place both in person at the office and online, to make it possible for those who live outside the capital area to participate.
